(in)definite optimism

March 2017, sculpture created for TEDx Conference at McMaster University

The future is in the hands of the beholder. We are the creators, dreamers, engineers sharing the stage at this dramatic point in time.  Are we truly in charge of our destinies?  Or, could it be, that our visions and our roles are shaped by an invisible director?  Increasingly, our most benevolent inventions turn into brazen tools of self destruction; they haunt, taunt and enslave us.  A question worth considering: within this ever-shrinking world of endless knowledge and information, does anyone actually espouse definite optimism?
